Today I decided I give the new Linux Flex Builder 3 a try, and install it in Gutsy. Now that I have a complete environment for developing nice Flash applications in Linux, first I am quite happy and couldn't have imagined this one year back and second as installation was not that straight forward as I thought I want to share my installation process here.

Deskbar Applet is fantastico
I use the key combination <ALT><F3>, for everything. Just want to launch a Program, <ALT><F3>, just type 'fire' and deskbar shows a command to launch Firefox. Or you quickly want to open a folder?? Just enter the name of the folder and select the option to open the folder. Search for anything(Emails, files,…) use the deskbar(with Tracker)
Tracker
I love Tracker. I loved Beagle too, but Beagle used too much performance and indexing was not faster as with Tracker. Tracker allows one to add Tags to anything. Right now you have to make a search, select file and add tags. I believe someday, you save a file by giving a name and tags. This is the first step towards this solution.
Evolution Systray Icon
Evolution now displays a system tray icon when you receive new emails. Wow, how could one ever live without such a feature? Well sometimes it is really helpful. Of course you can turn it off
Sudo Password Request
Sudo has now a [sudo] tag in front of the sudo's passwort request. So now it is possible to distinguish sudo's password from another one.
